About us

A North West biotech building a power-free molecular diagnostics platform

We combine deep molecular biology expertise with engineering-led innovation to make molecular testing simpler, more accessible and easier to deploy beyond the laboratory.

Our mission

To democratise molecular diagnostics, making it fully decentralised and accessible to all.

Our story

Built by scientists, driven by a bigger global problem

We’re molecular biology R&D specialists with years of experience designing, optimising and delivering assays across industry and academia, from early-stage development at the bench to real-world applications.

Through that work, we kept encountering the same challenge: molecular testing is incredibly powerful, but access is still too often limited by centralised laboratories, specialist equipment and long turnaround times.

We founded Simplex Molecular to change that.

Our goal is to develop a technology-agnostic platform for decentralised molecular testing, bringing the power of molecular diagnostics closer to the people and places that need it. We combine expertise in molecular biology, assay development and engineering biology to rethink how testing can be designed and delivered.

While we develop our own platform, we’re putting that same expertise to work for others. Our R&D and molecular testing services give researchers and businesses access to the scientific know-how, technical rigour and problem-solving that underpin our own technology.

Every project helps us move closer to our mission: making molecular diagnostics more accessible, more practical and truly decentralised.
